The Chinese New Year is where each year is named after a different animal.
They had a race with 13 different animals to decide on which year they represented. The cat is not shown in any of the years because it got tricked. The rat pushed the cat off the ox and tricked the ox in given him a ride, when he didn’t need on. This year is the year of the Rooster.
The Chinese New Year is very important to the Chinese. It is defined as the first day of the first month. They eat dumplings in a New Year’s Eve dinner. They also eat New Year’s dinner cake which is a hard cake and is eaten in Eastern China.
Next year is the year of the dog.
